Hello hello!
Today's Wishcasting Wednesday prompt was a perfect reflection of the past week or so. What do I wish to dare? I wish to dare to be successful doing my own creative business. I wish to DARE TO ALLOW MYSELF TO BE SUCCESSFUL, to BELIEVE IN MY ABILITIES and to TAKE IT ALL THE WAY THIS TIME.
Let me explain: in 2007/8 I started a dance business called Spirit Moves Dance. I advertised, rented space, offered classes...the whole deal. Interestingly, I began to really put myself out there at about the same time as I got pregnant with Little Bear. I think maybe the fact that I had a set period to work in, and an excuse to back out, made things less scary. They were still scary, but they were less scary...sort of.
Now that Little Bear is almost 2, I'm ready to try again. I'm taking all the lessons I learned last time and starting from the beginning. It feels a lot like a second draft, which is good because if the process of writing my first novel has taught me anything it's that first drafts inevitably suck, at least in comparison to second drafts (or at least I HOPE they do...I'm still on draft #1 of the novel).
So now the thing I really need to do is to take a deep breath and leap. Leaping is scary. But whoever said that often it's not the fear of failure but the fear of wild success that holds us back was dead on as far as I'm concerned. And I have a head full of demons telling me I can't do it, I waited too long, I've lost my edge.
Enough. I wish...I wish with all my heart...to DARE to release myself from the mindset of fear and failure and self-sabotage and to let myself soar.
